Now that Homecoming Week is past us, it is safe to say that Appleton North’s 2024 Greek Week was one of the best celebrations the school has seen. To start the festivities, the Student Council class presidents hosted the “Opening Ceremonies.” Kicking off the antics, our teachers hosted a “Masked Singer” game. First, three “Mystery Teachers” sang a song, and then each class gave a guess for whom the unknown performer was. Once all three singers had their guesses, their identities were revealed. A shout-out to Mr. Aumann, Sra. Lauber de Garza, and Ms. Vissers for participating in the fun! On Monday after school, the grades took to the field for the Powderpuff Football Games. Although the games were close, the Junior class came out victorious! Students came to school in outrageous outfits throughout the week to show their school spirit. This year’s spirit days were Olympic Rings by class, Anything But a Backpack Day, Wacky Wednesday, U.S.A. Day, and Bolt Up. To see some of the best-dressed participants, see page 20! The Appleton North Homecoming Parade was bigger than it had ever been! As an opener, the North Band marched to the beat of our school song and drumline cadences. Staff, students, and community members participated by making school-spirited floats. Additionally, the Homecoming Court was presented by a fleet of Corvettes. This year’s Friday Night Lights shined bright at our Homecoming football game. The Lightning took on the Neenah Rockets in an intense game. During halftime, the band performed a compilation of songs from the ‘90s and early 2000s animated films. Our performance team also kept the pep up by cheering on the track and performing their halftime routine! And finally, on Saturday, the long-awaited Homecoming dance took place. Students dressed up and danced the night away to songs like Fireball by Pitbull, Dancing Queen by ABBA, and FE!N by Travis Scott (TWICE!). Overall, 2024’s Greek Week will be hard to beat. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the year will bring!
