A reflection on select UW schools

When Appleton North students start thinking about applying to colleges, many look no further than the UW schools, especially since there are twenty-six campuses in the UW Extension which provide affordable and good quality education. Here, the Noctiluca features six of the four-year universities many of last year’s graduates attended.
Riley Dougherty
Noctiluca: What university do you currently attend?
Dougherty: UW-Eau Claire
Noctiluca: What is/are your intended major(s)?
Dougherty: Currently undecided
Noctiluca: What attracted you to the campus?
Dougherty: The small class sizes and the beautiful campus made it ideal for me.
Noctiluca: Did North classes prepare you academically for college?
Dougherty: Yes, North really helped me. I had 12 credits from taking AP classes going into college.
Blake Ebben
Noctiluca: What university do you currently attend?
Ebben: UW-Oshkosh
Noctiluca: What is/are your intended major(s)?
Ebben: Business
Noctiluca: What attracted you to the campus?
Ebben: The huge network the school provides and being able to stay involved while attending.
Noctiluca: Did North classes prepare you academically for college?
Ebben: Yes, but it mainly depends on student drive because some people prepare less and some people prepare more in high school.
Alexander Reis
Noctiluca: What university do you currently attend?
Reis: UW-Madison
Noctiluca: What is/are your intended major(s)?
Reis: Business Psychology and Spanish
Noctiluca: What attracted you to the campus?
Reis: The beautiful, vibrant atmosphere of Madison with plenty of music, art, and fun.
Noctiluca: Did North classes prepare you academically for college?
Reis: Yes, North did help prepare me for the academic rigor but only college experience could really prepare me for college.
Katie Henning
Noctiluca: What university do you currently attend?
Henning: UW-Green Bay
Noctiluca: What is/are your intended major(s)?
Henning: Science of Nursing
Noctiluca: What attracted you to the campus?
Henning: Its affordability and connection with Bellin College’s nursing program.
Noctiluca: Did North classes prepare you academically for college?
Henning: Yes, coming in with college credits from AP and CAPP classes really put me ahead of the other students.
Chris Cudnowski

Cudnowski: UW-Milwaukee
Noctiluca: What is/are your intended major(s)?
Cudnowski: Currently Undecided
Noctiluca: What attracted you to the campus?
Cudnowski: The relatively close proximity to home and the condenseness of the campus.
Noctiluca: Did North classes prepare you academically for college?
Cudnowski: Yes, the AP classes helped me understand the amount of work I’d have in college and also reminded me that I have to balance class work and extracurriculars.

Lor: UW-Whitewater
Noctiluca: What is/are your intended major(s)?
Lor: Marketing
Noctiluca: What attracted you to the campus?
Lor: The benefit of Whitewater’s successful Business program along with the homey environment the city offers.
Noctiluca: Did North classes prepare you academically for college?
Lor: Yes, North prepared me not only for academic classes but also my on-campus job.
