Proposal story: Mrs. Dickenson wasn’t expecting it at all

February 16, 2017
It was her first year at the small community college in Milwaukee when Mrs. Dickenson, student services secretary, met her now husband of thirty years at a party. Three months later he proposed.
“We were at his Fraternity house,” Dickenson said, “He asked me to marry him.” Dickenson said she did not expect the proposal at all.
A year and a half later they were married.
“It was a big wedding in Iowa on a Friday night,” Dickenson said.
“It rained on my wedding and they usually say that’s how many tears a bride sheds,” Dickenson added, “but that wasn’t the case. We’ve been married almost thirty years.”
