Dear Appleton North community,

The Noctiluca messed up. A reference to the girls tennis team that should not have gotten into the paper did. Apparently, it was supposed to be a joke, but it’s not funny. We apologize to the girls tennis team—they are a class act, a vital part of our Lightning community, and deserving of respect. We apologize for the breakdown and the breach of trust. We will be re-evaluating our process to ensure that a mistake like this does not happen again, and we will be working hard to earn that trust back.
